GNRHR2P1 is the pseudogene of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor 2 (GnRHR2) in humans. In contrast to other species, where GnRHR2 encodes a functional seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) selective for GnRH2, the human GNRHR2 locus contains a frameshift and premature stop codon which prevent the production of a full-length, functional transmembrane receptor. While the gene is transcribed, there is no clear evidence that it encodes a functional receptor protein in humans. Consequently, GNRHR2P1 is not considered a therapeutic target, does not have known interacting drugs or direct biological/disease functions, and is generally classified as a non-coding pseudogene in the human genome.
