GPALPP motifs-containing protein 1 (GPALPP1, also known as KIAA1704, LSR7, and several other aliases) is a human protein encoded by the GPALPP1 gene, located on chromosome 13q14.12. The protein contains characteristic GPALPP(GF) motifs near the N-terminus and a domain of unknown function (DUF3752), with predicted nuclear localization and coiled/alpha helical structure at its C-terminus. While conserved across vertebrates and predicted to have various post-translational modifications, the biological function of GPALPP1 is not well characterized. Expression data suggest low to moderate levels in most tissues, with possible modulation in cancer and in response to various stimuli; for instance, expression loss is seen in mantle cell lymphoma, while upregulation occurs in U937 cells treated with nicotine. No drugs are currently known to interact with GPALPP1, and it is not considered a validated therapeutic target at this time.
