Overview

Granzyme A pseudogene 1 (GZMAP1) is a non-coding genomic locus classified as a pseudogene of the functional Granzyme A gene (GZMA). Pseudogenes such as GZMAP1 are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically non-functional; they do not produce active proteins. Most available scientific and clinical information concerns Granzyme A, a serine protease involved in cytotoxic T cell function and cell death pathways[1], but GZMAP1 itself is not known to have protein-coding ability, therapeutic relevance, or established biological roles.\n- GZMAP1 should not be confused with Granzyme A (protein, GZMA gene), which is a subject of therapeutic and immunological research[1][2]. GZMAP1 does not encode this enzyme.\n- If information is required for the functional protein-coding Granzyme A (GZMA), a new query should be issued for that target specifically.
