Grass Pollen Allergen B-cell Epitopes are specific regions within grass pollen allergens (e.g., Phl p 1) recognized by antibodies, primarily IgE and IgG. These epitopes play a central role in triggering allergic reactions and modulating immune responses during immunotherapy. They are targets for diagnostics and the development of safer allergy vaccines aimed at inducing protective antibody responses without eliciting unwanted T cell activation or increasing the risk of anaphylaxis.
BM32 induces blocking IgG antibodies against grass pollen allergens. Allergen immunotherapy aims to induce IgG4 antibodies that compete with IgE for binding to the allergen epitopes.
