Grass pollen allergen peptides are short amino acid sequences derived from the major allergenic proteins found in grass pollens. These peptides represent specific linear or conformational epitopes recognized by the immune system and are central to both allergic sensitization and immunotherapeutic strategies. Major allergens include Phl p 1, Phl p 5, Lol p 5, Cyn d 1, Dac g 5, and Hol l 5. They induce strong Th2-type immune responses, leading to allergic rhinitis or asthma. Synthetic peptide immunoregulatory epitopes are being developed for allergy treatment.
