GRHL2 divergent transcript (GRHL2-DT, BX357664) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 8 close to the GRHL2 gene[1]. It is distinguished from GRHL2, which encodes a protein transcription factor implicated in epithelial cell differentiation and several cancers[2][3][4]. There is currently little published evidence describing specific biological function, disease associations, or clinical relevance for GRHL2-DT. Most available literature and molecular studies refer to the protein-coding GRHL2, suggesting that any reference to GRHL2-DT as a protein, receptor, or drug target is likely to be a misattribution. If the intended target is the protein-coding transcription factor "Grainyhead-like protein 2" (GRHL2), which is an established regulator of epithelial biology and a well-characterized cancer-related transcription factor, that is a different molecule and should be distinctly referenced. "GRHL2 divergent transcript" or "GRHL2-DT" is not a receptor, not a protein, and is not currently classified as a conventional drug target. Most described molecular and clinical roles belong to GRHL2 itself, not GRHL2-DT[2][3][4][5].
