GRIK1 antisense RNA 3 (GRIK1-AS3) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the GRIK1 gene locus in humans. It does not encode a protein and is presumed to function as a regulatory RNA, potentially involved in modulating the expression of the GRIK1 gene (which encodes the Glutamate receptor, ionotropic, kainate 1 subunit). While other antisense RNAs transcribed from this region (such as GRIK1-AS1 and GRIK1-AS2) have been studied for their regulatory roles affecting neuronal function and disease, there are currently no specific studies defining the biological function, disease associations, or drug interactions of GRIK1-AS3. It is cataloged in several gene databases as a distinct RNA gene but is not currently considered a therapeutic target.
