GRK3 Antisense RNA 1 (GRK3-AS1) is a long noncoding antisense RNA gene transcribed from the GRK3 locus. As an antisense transcript, it is complementary to GRK3 mRNA and may regulate GRK3 gene expression through epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional mechanisms. Antisense RNAs select for chromatin modification, transcriptional interference, and potential splicing regulation. While antisense RNAs are broadly implicated in regulating cellular processes and disease pathways, there are no direct links or documented protein-coding functions, nor is GRK3-AS1 reported as a direct drug target to date.
Not applicable. However, generic antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) drugs can mediate RNA degradation against antisense RNAs by RNase H or influence splicing in other contexts
