GRM7 antisense RNA 2 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand of the GRM7 gene locus. It does not encode a protein and has no established function as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other common therapeutic target class. GRM7-AS2 is documented in genomic databases such as NCBI Gene and Ensembl, located on chromosome 3 (human genome coordinates: chr3:6892632-6894022, hg38)[4]. There is no robust published evidence on its biological function, involvement in disease, drug interactions, or its value as a therapeutic or diagnostic target. Confusion may arise due to similarity to GRM7 (Glutamate metabotropic receptor 7), which is a bona fide therapeutic target implicated in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders, but GRM7-AS2 itself should not be considered a therapeutic target[4].
