Target intelligence / Profile preview
Growth factor binding proteins (GFBPs) are a family of secreted proteins that primarily regulate the activity, bioavailability, and signaling of growth factors, most notably the insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). They bind to growth factors with high affinity, acting as transport proteins, regulating bioavailability by sequestering growth factors, and modulating signaling. Dysregulation of GFBPs is implicated in diseases such as cancer and metabolic disorders.
Sequestration of growth factors, modulation of receptor activation, influencing cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis
