GSK3B divergent transcript (GSK3B-DT, alias GPNCA) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed divergently from the GSK3B locus. It acts as an upstream regulator with the ability to positively regulate GSK3B expression at both mRNA and protein levels, as demonstrated by qPCR and Western blot[1]. Its upregulation is associated with poor prognosis and tumor progression in cancer, indicating its potential as a prognostic biomarker, but it does not serve as a direct therapeutic target like a receptor, enzyme, or transporter. Targeting GSK3B-DT itself for therapeutic purposes remains to be established, but its regulatory effect on GSK3B may have therapeutic implications given the kinase's involvement in cancer and other diseases[1].
