GSK3B interacting protein (GSKIP) is a protein encoded by the GSKIP gene in humans. It acts as a negative regulator of GSK3-beta, playing a critical role in the Wnt signaling pathway and regulating functional interactions between GSK3-beta, beta-catenin, and cyclin D1. GSKIP contains a GSK3-beta interacting domain (GID) similar to Axin, enabling it to modulate beta-catenin pools and participate in retinoic acid signaling. Additionally, GSKIP possesses an RII-binding domain, facilitating interactions with both protein kinase A (PKA) and GSK3-beta and allowing it to function as an A-kinase anchoring protein. Through its regulatory roles, GSKIP impacts neuronal proliferation, neuroprotection against stress-induced apoptosis, and cell cycle progression. Alternative splicing produces different isoforms of the encoded protein[1][5][9].
