Pseudogenes are non-coding DNA segments that resemble functional genes but typically lack the ability to encode functional proteins due to mutations or truncations[2][5]. GTF2A2P1 is classified as a processed pseudogene, and there is no evidence it acts as a therapeutic target, nor is there evidence it has defined biological, disease, or pharmacological functions[5]. While some pseudogenes may have regulatory effects in other contexts[2][4], there is no current evidence supporting such a role for GTF2A2P1.
