Overview

GSPT1, also known as eukaryotic peptide chain release factor GTP-binding subunit ERF3A (eRF3a), is a GTPase that plays a critical role in translation termination during protein synthesis. It functions as part of the eRF1-eRF3-GTP ternary complex, which mediates translation termination at stop codons on mRNA. Targeting its degradation via cereblon modulators shows promise for treating hematologic malignancies.
