Overview

Ras proteins (p21^ras) are monomeric GTPases encoded by the HRAS, KRAS, and NRAS genes, functioning as molecular switches in signal transduction pathways that control cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Mutations in these proteins—especially KRAS—are among the most common drivers of human cancers, leading to constitutive activation of growth-promoting signaling cascades. Therapeutic targeting of mutant KRAS has become a major focus in oncology[6][9][7].
