Target intelligence / Profile preview
GNA11 encodes the alpha subunit of a heterotrimeric G protein (Gα11), a key component in GPCR signaling. Upon activation, Gα11 activates phospholipase C beta (PLC-β), initiating intracellular signaling cascades that regulate diverse cellular processes like cell growth, division, apoptosis, and hormone secretion. Mutations in GNA11 are implicated in autosomal dominant hypocalcemia and uveal melanoma.
