Guanylate cyclase soluble subunit beta-1 (sGCβ1) is a subunit of the soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) enzyme, which is a heterodimer composed of an alpha and a beta subunit. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of GTP to cGMP, an important second messenger involved in various physiological processes, notably vascular tone regulation. It serves as the main receptor for nitric oxide (NO).
