Target intelligence / Profile preview
H3 histone pseudogene 3 is a pseudogene belonging to the histone H3 family. Pseudogenes are non-functional segments of DNA that resemble functional genes but do not encode active proteins. There are several functional H3 histone genes (e.g., H3F3A, H3F3B, HIST1H3A) and variants such as H3.1, H3.2, and H3.3, which play major roles in chromatin structure, gene expression regulation, and epigenetic regulation in eukaryotic cells[2]. However, H3 histone pseudogene 3 does not code for a functional protein, has no established biological role, and is not considered a therapeutic target.
