Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) capsular polysaccharide antigen (PRP) is a high-molecular-weight polymer that forms the capsule surrounding Hib bacteria. This capsule protects Hib from host immune defenses and is the primary target for protective immune responses elicited by conjugate vaccines, which have dramatically reduced the incidence of invasive Hib disease.
Induction of anti-PRP antibodies that neutralize and clear the bacteria.
