Haemophilus influenzae type b polyribosylribitol phosphate conjugated to carrier protein is a vaccine antigen that consists of the type b capsular polysaccharide (polyribosylribitol phosphate, PRP) from *Haemophilus influenzae* type b chemically linked to a carrier protein, commonly tetanus toxoid. The conjugation transforms the polysaccharide antigen into a T cell-dependent antigen, greatly improving immunogenicity in infants and young children. The PRP is a linear copolymer of ribose and ribitol joined by phosphate diester linkages[1][3], and the conjugated complex induces high-affinity, protective antibodies that prevent invasive Hib disease.
