The Haemophilus influenzae type b polysaccharide–tetanus toxoid conjugate (PRP-T) is a vaccine antigen used for active immunization against invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). It consists of the capsular polysaccharide from H. influenzae type b covalently linked to tetanus toxoid protein, inducing a T-cell dependent IgG antibody response against the Hib capsular polysaccharide. This leads to the production of anti-capsular PRP antibodies with bactericidal activity against Hib, providing protection against invasive disease.
