Target intelligence / Profile preview
Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide conjugate is the active component in Hib conjugate vaccines. The target molecule is the capsular polysaccharide of Hib, specifically polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate (PRP), which is covalently linked to a protein carrier to enhance immunogenicity and induce a T-cell dependent immune response.
Conjugation of polysaccharide with protein carrier to elicit a T-cell dependent immune response, leading to stronger antibody production and long-lasting protection against Hib disease.
