The Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide conjugate antigen is the active component in Hib conjugate vaccines, designed to prevent invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b bacteria. It consists of the Hib capsular polysaccharide PRP conjugated to a carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity in infants and young children, eliciting a T-cell dependent immune response and long-lasting protection.
