Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide conjugate protein antigens are the active components in Hib conjugate vaccines, which are designed to prevent invasive diseases caused by H. influenzae type b. The target antigen is the capsular polysaccharide of Hib—specifically polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP)—which is covalently linked to a carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity, especially in infants and young children.
