Target intelligence / Profile preview
HAUS1P1 (HAUS augmin like complex subunit 1 pseudogene 1) is a processed pseudogene located on human chromosome 5, derived from the parental HAUS1 gene, which encodes a subunit of the HAUS augmin-like complex involved in microtubule organization during cell division[3][5][8][11][15]. Unlike the functional HAUS1 gene, HAUS1P1 is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic sequence similar to a known gene but typically lacks the ability to produce a functional protein product due to disabling mutations, such as premature stop codons or lack of promoter elements[14][15]. There is no evidence in the literature or gene databases that HAUS1P1 serves as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or has direct biological or clinical significance as a functional molecule. In general, some pseudogenes can act as regulators of their parental genes by acting as decoys for microRNAs or by generating regulatory RNAs, but there is no data indicating this is the case for HAUS1P1 specifically[6][7][4]. Accordingly, "HAUS augmin like complex subunit 1 pseudogene 1" (HAUS1P1) should not be considered a drug target or molecular target for therapeutic intervention. Additionally, its designation as a pseudogene means there is no associated protein, ligand, pathway, or disease relevance akin to bona fide drug targets.
