Overview
HAUS augmin-like complex subunit 2 (HAUS2) is a protein component of the augmin complex, which is essential for the assembly and stability of the mitotic spindle and for centrosome integrity during cell division. By enabling the proper attachment and stabilization of microtubules, HAUS2 is critical for accurate segregation of chromosomes and completion of cytokinesis. While it has not been directly targeted by drugs or used as a clinical biomarker, its role in microtubule function and cell division links it to cancer and other diseases involving abnormal mitosis.
