HAX1 pseudogene 1 (HAX1P1) is classified as a pseudogene related to the functional gene HAX1 (HS-1-associated protein X-1), which is known for its roles in regulating apoptosis, mitochondrial membrane potential, cell migration, immune response, and is implicated in disorders such as severe congenital neutropenia. However, HAX1P1 itself is a non-coding, non-functional genomic locus that does not code for a protein and lacks biological functions independently from the canonical HAX1 gene. There is no evidence HAX1P1 is a druggable target, involved in cellular signaling or disease, or that it acts as a biomarker, nor are there known drugs or safety concerns related to it. The canonical, functional molecule is HAX1 (HS-1-associated protein X-1); HAX1P1 is a related pseudogene and not considered a therapeutic target. Note: - If the intention was to refer to the protein-coding HAX1 gene or protein, the canonical entry should be “HCLS1 associated protein X-1 (HAX1)”. - Pseudogenes like HAX1P1 may occasionally have regulatory roles as competing endogenous RNAs, but there is no evidence for such a function for HAX1P1 in current standard databases or literature. - Queries regarding biological or therapeutic roles should be redirected to HAX1, not HAX1P1.
