Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is a highly conserved and essential molecular chaperone found in all eukaryotes, including yeast. In *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* (baker’s yeast), the primary stress-inducible isoform is known as Hsp82. This protein plays a critical role in maintaining cellular proteostasis by assisting the folding, stabilization, and activation of a wide range of client proteins, many of which are involved in signal transduction pathways and cellular stress responses.
