Target intelligence / Profile preview
HSP90AA5P is a human pseudogene belonging to the heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) alpha family, class A, member 5. Unlike functional HSP90 proteins, which act as ATP-dependent molecular chaperones involved in folding, stability, and regulation of various proteins, this pseudogene does not encode a functional protein. It is predicted to have sequence similarity to functional HSP90 genes, but there is no evidence for protein expression or biological function from this locus. As such, HSP90AA5P should not be confused with functional HSP90 family members that are explored as cancer drug targets and molecular chaperones
None (not a therapeutic target; mechanisms listed for HSP90 do not apply to this pseudogene)
