Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 8 pseudogene 4 (HSPA8P4) is a pseudogene in humans. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but are generally regarded as non-functional due to mutations that prevent their expression as proteins. HSPA8P4 is related by sequence to the HSPA8 gene, which encodes for a chaperone protein involved in protein folding, but HSPA8P4 itself does not encode a functional protein and has no known biological or therapeutic role[1][3][4][5][6].
