Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member pseudogene 19 (HSPA8P19) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 3 (ENSG00000251614). As a pseudogene, it is a non-functional segment of DNA that resembles the coding sequence of the heat shock protein family A (Hsp70), specifically similar to the HSPA8 gene, but it does not produce a functional protein product and is not known to be expressed. Pseudogenes can arise by gene duplication or retrotransposition events and, while some may be involved in gene regulation as non-coding RNAs, there is currently no evidence that HSPA8P19 has any biological function, disease association, or relevance as a drug target in humans.
