Heat shock protein family B member 9 (HSPB9) is a member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP/HSP20) family[4][1]. It is characterized by a conserved alpha-crystallin domain, essential for its ATP-independent chaperone activity, preventing protein aggregation and maintaining proteostasis during cellular stress[3][1][4].
