Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock protein family D (Hsp60) member 1 pseudogene 8 (HSPD1P8) is a processed pseudogene in Homo sapiens, located on chromosome 13q31.1. It is noncoding and does not produce a functional protein, in contrast to its parent gene HSPD1, which encodes mitochondrial chaperonin Hsp60 involved in protein folding and stress response. HSPD1P8 is generally considered to lack biological function and is not associated with any disease or therapeutic intervention at this time.
