HSPE1P27 is a processed pseudogene derived from the heat shock protein family E member 1 (HSPE1, also known as Hsp10). Pseudogenes such as HSPE1P27 are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but have lost their ability to encode proteins, typically due to mutations or truncations. Most pseudogenes are considered non-functional, although some may have regulatory roles at the RNA level, such as influencing expression of their functional homologs through RNA-mediated mechanisms. There is currently no established biological function, diagnostic role, or therapeutic relevance for HSPE1P27. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor and is not targeted by any known drugs.
