Target intelligence / Profile preview
HSPE1P4 is a human pseudogene related to the heat shock protein family E (Hsp10) member 1 gene[2]. Pseudogenes do not encode active proteins; instead, they are nonfunctional genomic sequences similar to active genes. While some pseudogenes have been shown to regulate expression of their parent genes or other related genes through noncoding RNA mechanisms (such as miRNA decoy or siRNA production[4]), there is no specific evidence for direct biological or therapeutic roles or drug interactions involving HSPE1P4 itself. Thus, it is best categorized as a nonfunctional molecular relic, not a canonical drug target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or biomarker.
