Target intelligence / Profile preview
HSPE1P1 is a human pseudogene and does not code for a functional protein. It is a non-functional copy of the HSPE1 gene, which encodes heat shock protein 10 kDa (chaperonin 10), a mitochondrial co-chaperonin involved in protein folding under stress conditions. Unlike the functional HSPE1 gene or the chaperonins it encodes, HSPE1P1 has no direct biological function and is not considered a molecular target for drug development or disease intervention[8].
