Processed pseudogenes like HSPE1P23 are generated by reverse transcription of mRNA and reintegration into the genome, typically lacking introns and often containing frame disruptions that prevent functional protein production[4]. Recent research on pseudogenes in general highlights their potential regulatory roles at the RNA level, including acting as decoys for miRNAs or producing regulatory small RNAs, but no such regulatory function has been specifically described for HSPE1P23[2][6]. There is no evidence that HSPE1P23 is a therapeutic target, biomarker, or is associated with drug interactions, nor does it have direct disease or safety concerns attributed to it[1][4][6].
