Heat shock transcription factor family, X-linked 1 (HSFX1) is a member of the heat shock transcription factor (HSF) family, primarily described as a DNA-binding protein that regulates gene expression at the transcriptional level, particularly in response to cellular stress. HSFX1 is predicted to enable sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor activity and functions in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. It is expressed in human tissues and is mainly considered a regulator involved in cellular stress responses and development, with links to spermatogenesis. Unlike the well-studied HSF1 and HSF2, HSFX1 has not been directly connected to significant roles in major human diseases or as a therapeutic drug target, and there are currently no approved drugs or clinical interventions acting on it[2][5][9][11].
