Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock transcription factor Y-linked 1 (HSFY1) is a member of the heat shock factor (HSF) family of transcriptional activators with a specific role in regulating the transcription of heat shock proteins in response to cellular stress. HSFY1 is located on the Y chromosome, with two identical copies present. It is specifically expressed in the testis and has been implicated as a potential genetic factor in male infertility, particularly azoospermia, due to its localization in regions frequently deleted in infertile males. HSFY1 encodes protein isoforms through alternative splicing, but currently, there are no known drug interactions or roles in other major diseases outside reproduction[2][3][4][7].
