HEATR3 antisense RNA 1 (HEATR3-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the region opposite to the HEATR3 gene in the genome[1]. While the biological function of HEATR3-AS1 has not been specifically established in the literature or gene annotation resources, antisense RNAs are generally known to regulate the expression of their overlapping protein-coding genes or related chromatin structure, often through transcriptional interference, RNA-mediated silencing, or recruitment of chromatin modifying complexes[3].
