Target intelligence / Profile preview
HECTD2 antisense RNA 1 (HECTD2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene. It is classified as an RNA gene rather than a protein-coding gene, and is transcribed but not translated into a protein. HECTD2-AS1 is located on chromosome 10q23.32. There is currently little known about its precise biological functions, mechanisms, or therapeutic relevance. The gene has been linked to diseases such as glycogen storage disease and carnitine palmitoyltransferase II deficiency, infantile, but specific causal or mechanistic data are lacking. There is no evidence that HECTD2-AS1 is a direct target for any approved or investigational drugs, and no established role as a biomarker or direct disease mechanism. Its biological role, if any, remains poorly characterized in the literature.
