This designation is frequently used in pharmacological databases to categorize multi-drug regimens or treatments that act on the gastric environment as a whole rather than on a single, isolated molecular receptor. Eradication of the pathogen is the primary goal in treating infected patients to prevent the recurrence of peptic ulcers and reduce the long-term risk of gastric adenocarcinoma.
