Overview

Hemodynamic parameters are measurable indices that describe the status of blood flow and cardiovascular function in the body. They include metrics such as blood pressure (systolic, diastolic, mean arterial pressure), cardiac output, stroke volume, vascular resistance, and pressures in the heart and major vessels. These parameters are used clinically to assess circulatory stability, guide interventions in critical care, monitor response to therapy, and evaluate risk in cardiovascular disease, heart failure, and shock states. Hemodynamic parameters are essential for determining oxygen delivery and tissue perfusion. They are assessed via noninvasive methods (blood pressure cuff, echocardiography) or invasive monitoring (pulmonary artery catheterization) and serve as surrogate endpoints or biomarkers in both diagnosis and therapeutic management[1][6][7][10][5].
