Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Hendra virus G glycoprotein (HeV-G) is the viral attachment protein essential for host cell entry by the Hendra virus. HeV-G binds specifically to ephrin-B2 and ephrin-B3 receptors on host cells, triggering activation of F protein, leading to membrane fusion. N-glycan shielding helps protect key epitopes from neutralizing antibodies, contributing to immune evasion.
Monoclonal antibodies designed to block its interaction with ephrin receptors or disrupt subsequent steps required for membrane fusion.
