HAVCR1P2 (hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1 pseudogene 2) is a human pseudogene originating from the gene encoding hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1 (HAVCR1). By definition, pseudogenes are nonfunctional DNA segments that resemble functional genes but are unable to produce functional protein products due to accumulated disabling mutations or lack of regulatory sequences.
