The Hepatitis C virus NS region antigen refers to antigens derived from the nonstructural (NS) proteins of the hepatitis C virus (HCV), including NS2, NS3, NS4A, NS4B, NS5A, and NS5B. These proteins are essential for viral replication and are targets for antiviral therapies. Detection of antibodies against these antigens is used in HCV diagnostic assays. Several direct acting antivirals target specific functions within these proteins, such as NS3/4A protease, NS5A, or NS5B polymerase.
