Target intelligence / Profile preview
Hepatocyte apoptosis pathways refer to the molecular mechanisms by which liver cells (hepatocytes) undergo programmed cell death. These pathways include the extrinsic (death receptor-mediated) and intrinsic (mitochondria-mediated) pathways, both tightly regulated by Bcl-2 family proteins. Dysregulation of these pathways is implicated in various liver diseases, including acute liver failure, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
