Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (hnRNP A1) is a highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed RNA-binding protein. It plays central roles in RNA metabolism, including transcription, pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA transport, translation regulation, microRNA processing, telomere maintenance, and modulation of transcription factor activity. Dysregulation or mutation of hnRNP A1 has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases and various cancers. It can also promote or inhibit viral replication depending on the virus.
