It is primarily involved in the packaging of pre-mRNA into hnRNP particles, facilitating the processing and transport of mRNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, and may modulate splice site selection during mRNA maturation[5][7][8][9]. While its homolog hnRNP A1 is well-characterized and associated with various cellular processes such as regulation of gene expression, response to cellular stress, and telomerase activity, the specific role of HNRNPA1L2 is less defined, though it is predicted to share similar functions due to significant homology[5][7][8][9].
