Overview

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 pseudogene 10 (HNRNPA1P10) is a human pseudogene derived from the protein-coding HNRNPA1 gene. The HNRNPA1 gene encodes an RNA-binding protein with important roles in RNA metabolism, including alternative splicing, mRNA export, and regulation of gene expression. However, HNRNPA1P10 itself does not encode a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic target. Pseudogenes like HNRNPA1P10 can sometimes have regulatory functions at the RNA level (e.g., as competitive endogenous RNAs), but there is no direct evidence or published data supporting a role for HNRNPA1P10 in disease, therapy, or molecular pathways. Any functional or disease associations described for "hnRNP A1" or "HNRNPA1" do not apply directly to the pseudogene HNRNPA1P10.

02

Mechanism of action

None for HNRNPA1P10. For the parent gene (HNRNPA1), inhibitors or modulators disrupt alternative splicing, RNA processing, or protein–protein interactions.

03

Biological functions

None established for the pseudogene itself. HNRNPA1P10, as a pseudogene, may be transcribed but does not have confirmed direct biological functions. Any mention of roles in splicing, RNA metabolism, etc., relates to the functional parental gene HNRNPA1, not to this pseudogene.
04

Disease associations

None known directly for HNRNPA1P10. Pseudogenes in general can be associated with regulatory RNA networks and roles in cancer or gene regulation, but no direct, reported implication for this specific pseudogene.
05

Safety considerations

None relevant a priori, as pseudogenes are not directly targeted for therapy or diagnostics.
06

Interacting drugs

None (No known drugs interact with HNRNPA1P10; known modulators target the functional HNRNPA1 protein, not its pseudogenes)
07

Biomarkers

None for HNRNPA1P10.
